An Alternative Wedding in the English Woods, Photographed on Film
This alternative wedding photography on film collection follows a brilliantly unconventional celebration held deep in the English woods, surrounded by trees, tents and the wonderfully loose atmosphere of a small festival.
The entire celebration was photographed on genuine film, following the day as it naturally unfolded. There was no long portrait session or list of carefully staged photographs. Instead, the focus remained on the people, the atmosphere and all the unpredictable moments happening around us.
A Woodland Wedding with Festival Spirit
This was a wedding built around experience rather than convention. Guests moved between the woodland, open clearings and canvas tents as music, conversation and celebration carried on around them.
The setting gave the day its own visual character: changing natural light, flashes of colour through the trees and the slightly wild energy of everyone being together outdoors.
Documentary Wedding Photography on Film
Working completely candidly allowed us to photograph the wedding from within it. Expressions, movement and relationships were captured as they happened, without continually interrupting the day or directing the couple.
Film suited that approach beautifully. Its texture, colour and occasional imperfections give the photographs a tangible quality that feels connected to the atmosphere of the celebration.
Rather than taking the couple away for conventional portraits, we allowed them to remain part of their wedding. The resulting photographs are less about performing for the camera and more about remembering how the day genuinely looked and felt.
